Title: PM6 Project Modifications for Wellington Area Middle

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications in the amount of $6,424.00 for Wellington Area Middle School (02-JJ), New School Construction Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

 

Wellington Area Middle School (02-JJ) New School Construction Project #3371‑8290

 

This project modification contains the following item:

 

  • Architectural Additional Services in the amount of $6,424.00
  • Description: Redesign the existing irrigation for the drainage storage area created within the adjacent Village of Wellington Park.
  • Cause:  Outside Agency-The land area on which the school is being constructed is not sufficient to provide rain water storage on site. An accommodation was reached with the Village of Wellington to construct the water storage areas on the perimeter of their adjacent ball fields to store the water. 
  • Justification: As a provision of the South Florida Water Management District’s  permit, rain water must be maintained on the plotted site. An agreement was reached with the Village of Wellington to construct the retention areas on the perimeter of their site. 

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $6,424.00. Construction cost impact to be determined after design is completed.

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
