Title: Recommendation: I recommend that the School Board authorize payment of $70,000 to the Palm Beach County Education Commission, Inc., in partnership with the Children Services Council and the School District of Palm Beach County to support funding of the Leadership Initiative for Senior Executives and Middle Management staff of each organization. Each organization will make a financial contribution to the continuation of this leadership training. Description: Ø The participants in this training initiative include executives from the academic sector, public government entities, and human service non-profit and private agencies. Ø In July 2003 a cadre of school district executives attended the Executive Leadership Academy at The Darden School – University of Virginia. This first cohort completed the program in July 2004. Ø In July 2004 a second cadre of school district executives began the 13-month program. Ø A component for training for mid-managers is currently under development.
