The 2016 Wellness Promotion Policy Annual Report

Finding creative and exciting ways to promote and infuse nutrition education at both the school and community levels is the vital to improving the health and well-being of our community. This has been an area of focus for the Department for many years. Throughout the school year, the School Food Service (SFS) Department hosts and participates in health fairs, provides opportunities for students to have access to Farm to School programs, promotes nutrition related messages such as National Nutrition Month, supports the academic efforts though provided each principal with age-appropriate nutrition related books that the schools could incorporate into their media centers and much more.
