TITLE:           LIAISON – PARENT / FAMILY INVOLVEMENT II HQ

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.        Sixty (60) or more semester hours of college courses at an accredited institution of higher learning; OR high school diploma or equivalent with 30 to 59 hours of college credit and passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test.

2.        General knowledge of Title I law and current research as such relates to the role of family involvement.

3.        Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of the School Improvement Plan and effectively transfer such to parents, family members, and the community. 

4.        Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups, and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

5.        Knowledge of current computing technologies and software applications appropriate to the position’s job responsibilities.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

1.        Assists the Title I Contact in development of the Policy / Plan, School-Compact and the distribution of appropriate documents and forms to families; assists in convening an annual meeting.

2.        Provides the Title I contact audit evidences of related work such as schedules, parent trainings, and home visit logs.

3.        Assists in organization and market initiatives of the District and assigned school regarding family involvement activities.

4.        Works collaboratively with the school, parents, community and the District to ensure all Title I compliance requirements are being met.

5.        Creates and/or maintains a school-based family resource room that provides information and materials to families.

6.        Provides assistance to families in understanding Title I documentation; collaborates with classroom teachers to provide communication with parents.

7.        Serves on the School Advisory Council or other governing bodies to ensure that families are partners, as well as leaders and decision makers.

8.        Recruits volunteer / business partners from the community and builds partnerships; recruits parents to build capacity within the school.

9.        Participates in technical assistance trainings, meetings, and activities offered by Title I.

10.      Develops presentation skills to offer presentations as meetings and informational workshops.

11.      Makes home visits and contacts families to encourage family involvement.

 

Performance Effectiveness Criteria:

In addition to the employee being responsible for each of the performance responsibilities listed herein, annual progress will be assessed with respect to support and achievement of the District Strategic Plan and associated applicable scorecards.
