TITLE: INTERIOR
DESIGN COORDINATOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
Bachelor’s
degree in architecture, engineering or related field, supplemented by
successful experience in the areas of interior design and construction (minimum
of ten (10) years of successful interior design experience with a large-scale
institutional/commercial (non-residential) project and a high school diploma or
equivalent may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree).
2.
Holds a valid
professional interior design license as certified by the American Society of
Interior Design (ASID).
3.
Knowledge of
federal, state and local codes and regulations governing the interior planning
and design of public facilities.
4.
Knowledge of
the principles, practices and methods of large-scale interior building design,
construction and project management techniques.
5.
Knowledge of
contract law.
6.
Proven ability
to select, supervise and evaluate staff.
7.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups, and
effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
8.
Knowledge of current computing technologies and
software applications appropriate to the position’s job responsibilities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
1.
Develops and
implements interior design standards and strategies for administrative and
educational facilities including all furnishings (fixed or mobile).
2.
Ensures
program objectives are met including quality, schedule and budget.
3.
Monitors
project budgets to ensure project costs remain within budget.
4.
Researches
acceptability of products, systems, design and new technology.
5.
Develops and
implements policies and procedures in compliance with School Board priorities,
Florida Statutes, Florida Department of Education Administrative Rules and
sound business practices.
6.
Works collaboratively
with school center staff and other District support personnel to provide
effective resource components.
7.
Effectuates
changes in program content, schedule and costs; prepares reports documenting
such changes.
8.
Assures the
meeting of project schedule milestones in a timely and efficient manner.
9.
Coordinates
multiple projects and maintains work flow.
