TITLE:           SPECIALIST I - GRANT COMPLIANCE

 

PURPOSE:    The Grant Compliance Specialist I is a professional responsible for assisting in coordinating the development and implementation of grants strategies at the school sites and District level. Position ensures compliance with applicable statutes and audit requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.        Master’s degree in education or related field.

2.        Valid teaching certificate recommended at level of responsibilities and in subject area.

3.        Successful teaching experience preferred at level and in subject area of responsibilities including experience in articulating with other areas and levels.

4.        Successful experience in curriculum development and implementation at level and in subject area of responsibilities.

5.        Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws and district policies related to federally and state funded programs.

6.        Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups, and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

7.        Knowledge of current computing technologies and software applications appropriate to the position’s job responsibilities.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

1.        Assists in developing and implementing grants strategies at the school sites.

2.        Meets with school administration to ensure compliance with various provisions of federal and/or state grants.

3.        Complies with and enforces applicable statutes and audit requirements.

4.        Assists with monitoring and tracking budget expenditures for federally and state-funded programs.

5.        Monitors the implementation and effectiveness of grant funded programs.

6.        Assists in the preparation and collection of evaluative data and in the dissemination of evaluation results.

7.        Calculates and disseminates information to schools related to grants and programs.

8.        Assists in identifying reform strategies, initiatives and implementation techniques as related to the development of grants programs.

9.        Provides summaries of research and identifies successful school reform strategies for potential implementation in program schools.

 

Performance Effectiveness Criteria:

In addition to the employee being responsible for each of the performance responsibilities listed herein, annual progress will be assessed with respect to support and achievement of the District Strategic Plan and associated applicable scorecards.
