Supper Program for 2016-2017 School Year

In the third year of the Afterschool Meals Program, an additional 31 schools were added to the 18 already approved sites operating since the inception of the program in October of 2015. The meal program, funded by the United States Department of Agriculture and administered by the Department of Health, Bureau of Child Care Food Programs, is designed to provide a nutritious meal to children in after-school programs.????It is available to schools in which at least 50% of the enrolled children are eligible for free or reduced-price??meals and were regularly scheduled educational or enrichment activities are structured and supervised.

At the beginning of the school year, new schools coming on board received training in program procedures and accountability procedures for compliance with state rules.????The menu was revised from the previous year adding several new sandwich offerings, in addition to new hot entrees, which proved popular with the students.

We are happy to announce that in FY17 a total of 675,904 meals and snacks were served through the Afterschool Meals Program.
