During the 2017-2018 school year, the Physical Education Department held a Hands Only CPR training on August 9, 2017 at John I. Leonard High School for secondary teachers. Hands-Only CPR Can Save Lives. Hands Only CPR will be taught to all students enrolled in a high school biology class. Most people who experience cardiac arrest at home, work or in a public location die because they do not receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene. As a bystander, do not be afraid. Your actions can only help.

Answering the dispatcher's questions will not delay the arrival of help. 222 Secondary Physical Education Teachers attended the training. In the first year of this requirement, 8,360 high school biology students were trained in Hands Only CPR.
