Title: CP1-A/E Agmnt for Crestwood Middle Addition

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the award of an Architectural Consultant Agreement with Song & Associates, Inc. in the amount of $537,050 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents for Crestwood Middle School Addition, Project No.1691-8307.

Description:

Architectural design services required for development of completed design documents for construction of a 660 student station addition at Crestwood Middle School in accordance with the educational specifications approved by the Board on June 7, 2006.

Approved Budget for Planning and Design:                  $605,632.

Approved Budget for Construction:                          $9,797,304.

Budgeted Construction Cost per SF: $180.53

Fees for Basic Services:$467,000

Funds Available For:
Additional Services: $46,700

Reimbursable Expenses: $23,350
Total Contract Award: $537,050

Five (5) firms responded to the RFP. Three (3) firms were shortlisted. The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows: 

(1) Song & Associates, Inc.

(2) PGAL

(3) Howard & Associates, Architects

Financial Impact:

The financial impact is $537,050. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget. The District will provide the Professional Responsibility Insurance at a cost of $21,523.
