The School Board approved the Charter for Delray Youth Vocational Charter School and the parties entered into the Charter Agreement at the June 26, 2002 Board Meeting.
The term for the Charter for Delray Youth Vocational Charter School is July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2007.
On March 3, 2005, the Charter School Department received from Delray Youth Vocational Charter School a request that the following two changes be made to their Charter (copy attached).
Item 1: Section 2.0-A - The limit of forty (40) at risk students and/or district eligible ESE students who are between the ages of 16-21 years old, economically disadvantaged and at risk shall be replaced with an enrollment cap of 300.
Item 2: Section 3.0 F - The "classes normally limited to 10 students" shall be replaced with the following:
"In accordance with §1003.03, F.S., for fiscal years 2008-2009, 2009-2010, and thereafter, the calculation for compliance shall be the following: the maximum number for students in core-curiculua courses assigned to a teacher in each of the following three grade groupings will be as follows: (1) Pre-kindergarten through grade 3, 18 students; (2) grades 4 through 9, 22 students; and (3) grades 9 through 12, 25 students."
Therefore, the language in the Charter Agreement shall be amended as requested above (copy of Agreement attached).
All other provisions of the approved Charter shall remain the same.
In the event of any conflict between the Third Amendment and Charter Agreement, the terms of the Third Amendment shall control.
