I recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications in the amount of $139,300.00 for Lantana Elementary School, Modernization Project, and adjust appropriate contracts, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

This Project Modification contains the following item:
Item #1 • Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $25,550.00. • Description: The Architect was required to hire an indoor air quality specialist to evaluate and provide recommendations, due to mold and mildew discovered during renovation of Building #4. • Cause: School District Requested. • Justification: Removal and cleanup required due to a health hazard.
Item #2 • Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $9,750.00 • Description: Additional Services to add parking lots to the old historic 1929 Building - Admin Offices • Cause: School District Requested. • Justification: Under the original plan, this building was to be demolished. Since the board's direction to save this structure, this work became necessary to utilize this facility. The building is not contiguous with main campus. Limited new parking, including a handicapped space, is required. The available land is limited, therefore, design studies will determine the total number of new spaces. • Construction costs are estimated to be approximately $104,000.00. A CCD will be issued to the CM for this work.
Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $139,300.00.
The source of funds are the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
