Title: CP5 Guaranteed Maximum Price for Berkshire ES

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve an Amendment to the Agreement and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents establishing the Phase I Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), in the amount of $2,423,830. to the Weitz Company for Berkshire Elementary School Modernization, Project No. 0601-8298.

Description:

Construction Management at Risk Services required for demolition of existing facility.  

Approved Construction Budget: $14,276,446.

Minority Participation: 33.92%

      No. of Stories: Building A-Classroom, two story, Building B-Administrative and Media, two story, Building D- Classroom, one story, Building E-Cafeteria and Art, one story

 

      Construction Type: Tilt Wall

 

      Gross Square Feet: 150,226 (New)

 

      Construction Cost Per Gross Square Foot: $95.03.  

 

      Total Student Stations: 1048  

 

      Construction Cost Per Student Station: $13,622.56 

 

      Preconstruction Fee: $106,630.

 

      Phase I: $2,423,830.

      Total Construction Cost: $2,530,460.

 

Financial Impact:
The financial impact is $2,423,830. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget.  The District will provide the Builder's Risk Insurance at a cost of $17,936.26.
