Title: CL3 Continuation of Student Cooperative Agreement with the Devereux Foundation Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve these continuing cooperative agreements with The Devereux Foundation, Inc., to provide educational services for two students with a disability, as mandated by their Individual Education Plans. The cost of these cooperative agreements is $271,788. The effective dates are July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006.
Description: Due to the severity of each of these students' needs, the Individual Education Plan (IEP) committee determined that these students continue to require extensive educational and therapeutic services in a residential facility with an estimated stay of twelve months beginning July 1, 2005.
These students will receive 24-hour educational, residential, and habilitation services.
Student Progress will be documented annually on the IEP.
District staff will make on-site semi-annual visits to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
The total FTE earned by these two students during the FY05 school year was $42,960.
These cooperative agreements are in compliance with State Board Rule 6A.6-0361, "Special Programs for Contractual Arrangements with Non-Public Schools."
Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the District's general operating fund is $271,788. The source of funds is the Exceptional Student Education Department Budget.
