Title: AC7 2005-2006 Interinstitutional Articulation Agreement

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Interinstitutional Articulation Agreement with Palm Beach Community College and Florida Atlantic University for the 2005-2006 school year.

Description:

This agreement is submitted in accordance with S.1007.235, F.S., which requires approval by all parties prior to the start of high school registration for the fall term.  The agreement has been approved by Palm Beach Community College and Florida Atlantic University.

Summary of Revisions

4     Revised committee member roster

4    Revised criteria for Dual Enrollment eligibility to  align with Florida Statute and State Board Rule

4    Revised college credit course eligibility requirements

4    Revised strategies for reducing the incidence of post-secondary remediation in math, reading, and writing for first-time enrolled recent high school graduates

4    Revised list of Dual Enrollment courses that must be accepted for high school credit

4    Inclusion of Post-Secondary Adult Vocational approved programs with the Dual Enrollment Credit Equivalency Table

4     Revised Tech Prep Agreement to include Early Childhood Education

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the FY2006 General Fund budget is approximately $350,000 for the purchase of dual enrollment instructional materials.  The source of funds is the Instructional Materials budget.
