Title: P3 Nversion Computer Upgrades

Recommendation:

I recommend approval of Nversion computer upgrades for the Education Network studios and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

Approve the Nversion computer upgrades for the Education Network studios in the not-to-exceed amount of $50,000.

·      Nversion manufactures and distributes their own audio visual and computer products exclusively.  Nversion hardware is used for television editing and production. 

·      The initial purchase of this equipment was approved by the School Board on Agenda Item 13A-7 on June 23, 2004.  Nversion was one of several vendors included on this agenda item.  Nversion hardware was part of the 2004 remodeling and upgrading of the Education Network studios.

·      The items needed for the continued upgrading of the Education Network studios are various monitoring viewer hardware, playlists, 16 port Ethernet machine, computer terminal, digital relay, cabling and software.

·      The upgrade is being continued in response to FCC mandates to increase broadcast capabilities.  Additional Nversion computer hardware is required to complete this requirement.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the Capital Budget is estimated at $50,000.  The source of funds is the Education Network Capital budget.
