Title: Recommendation: Description: The "Policies and Procedures for the Provision of Specially Designed Instruction and Related Services for Exceptional Students" document is based upon and contains State Board rules and regulations governing the identification, evaluation, eligibility determination and placement of students in special programs for exceptional students. The Florida Department of Education (DOE) requires the approval of this document as a prerequisite for receiving funding under the Florida Education Finance Program. In order to be in compliance, the DOE requires that all districts include and implement, as written, the portions of the document developed by DOE. Districts may only address and individualize those portions of the document in the "boxed" areas, which must then be approved by the Department of Education.
