Title: Recommendation: I recommend that the School Board approve the Seventh Amendment to the Agreement Between the School Board of Palm Beach County and the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, effective July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents and contracts related to the agreement which are required for implementation of the agreement activities. Description: § The services provided are required as part of the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Federal Grant (SOBEIT) and will be funded by the grant. § The Health Care District will provide the following: o Hire five Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs) to work in the grant targeted schools; o Identify children who are at risk in grades K-3 and meet with parents, staff and the School Based Team to develop an intervention plan; o Serve on the School Based Team to assess students and help identify available and appropriate services for each student identified and his or her family; o Develop links between the School Based Team and the Family and Community Partnership to provide services to children and their families; o Collaborate in the evaluation of program effectiveness and process, utilizing the existing resources of the o Share individual student program and intervention data for incorporation into the Financial Impact: The financial impact to the Special Revenue – Other Funds Budget is a decrease of approximately $249,260.
