Title: Recommendation: I recommend that the School Board approve the Fourth Amendment to the Agreement Between the School Board of Palm Beach County and the Parent Child Center, Inc., effective July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents and contracts related to the agreement which are required for implementation of the agreement activities. Description: § The o Hire five social workers to work in the targeted schools; o Develop links between the School Based Team and community services for students and families; o Assist the School Based Team with the identification of students at risk for behavioral health issues; o Provide solution focused, child and family centered services to students and their families to overcome the barriers to learning; o Provide psychiatric assessment and short term services for students; o Assist with medication management for students, as appropriate; o Maintain and provide individual student data for assessment and evaluation purposes; o Provide program data and individual data as required for evaluation and federal reporting purposes. § The services provided are required as part of the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Federal Grant (SOBEIT) and will be funded by the grant. Financial Impact: The financial impact to Special Revenue – Other Funds Budget is a decrease of $280,000. There is no impact to the General Fund Operating Budget.
