Title: Recommendation: I recommend that the School Board approve the cooperative agreements with these community child care centers. The effective dates of these Cooperative Agreements are July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2007. Description: These cooperative agreements are with the following community child care centers: Bright Ideas, Inc., Cambridge School, Hillel Day School, Holland Northlake Day School, JCC of the Greater Palm Beaches, Kidstop Early Learning Center, King's Kid Early Learning Center, Planet Kids, Puffin Ventures Pre-School and Riverside Youth Enrichment Center. These cooperative agreements, in addition to the 52 current child care sites serving prekindergarten students with disabilities, enable the students to receive services in a community based program. These cooperative agreements will serve a minimum of 30 prekindergarten students, ages three through five, who are eligible for speech/language services. The District will collect 100% of the Full Time Equivalency (FTE) and provide services to the ESE students in the Agency through existing staff or outsourced contracted services. These Agencies will receive no reimbursement. The District will ensure that students we serve in the agencies are provided speech language services according to the District's Special Programs and Procedures document. District staff will participate in student placements and make quarterly on-site visits to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines. Student progress will be documented on the Individual Education Plan (IEP). All of the students will be transitioned into District schools at the end of the school year in which they turn age five. These cooperative agreements are in compliance with State Board Rule 6A.6-03026 "Special Programs for Prekindergarten Children with Disabilities."
