Title: T2 Consider Donation of Surplus Buses

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board authorize the Superintendent to donate two 65 passenger school buses to G-STAR School of the Arts for Motion Pictures and Television Charter School.

Description:

• Florida Statute 274.06 allows disposal of surplus property in a manner consistent with the best itnerest of the District.
• Pursuant to Florida's Charter Schools law, all surplus property shall be provided for a charter school's use on the same basis as is made available to other public schools in the District.
• The G-STAR School of the Arts for Motion Pictures and Television Charter School is transporting Palm Beach County District students to and from school.
• Prior to the execution of this donation, G-STAR School of the Arts for Motion Pictures and Television Charter School will be required to sign a vehicle donation agreement.Appropriate liens will be filed with the State of Florida.
• Property records of the transferred vehicles will be retired to the inactive file.
• Written request for surplus buses is attached.

Financial Impact:
Donation of two surplus buses that would sell for approoximately $8,500, each.
