Title: T3 Consider Donation of Surplus Bus

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board authorize the Superintendent to donate one 65 passenger school bus to Potentials South Charter School.

Description:

• Florida Statute 274.06 allows disposal of surplus property in a manner consistent with the best interests of the District.
• Pursuant to Florida's Charter Schools law, all surplus property shall be provided for a charter school's use on the same basis as is made available to other public schools in the District.
• Potentials South Charter School will be transporting Palm Beach County District students to and from school.
• Prior to the execution of this donation, Potentials South Charter School will be required to sign a vehicle donation agreement.
• Appropriate liens will be filed with the State of Florida.
• Property records of the transferred vehicles will be retired to the inactive file.
• Written request for a surplus bus is attached.

Financial Impact:
Donation of one surplus bus that would sell for approximately $8,500.
