Title: PM2 Project Modifications for Indian Pines

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $150,250.00 for Indian Pines Elementary School, Classroom Addition Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Indian Pines Elementary School - Classroom Addition Project #1861-8374

 

This project modification contains the following item:

 

  • Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $150,250.00
  • Description: Additional design services required due to added scope required to accommodate class size reduction.
  • Cause: School District Requested
  • Justification: The design is based on the addition of Class Size Reduction requirements not included in the original scope of the architect's contract. The additional scope added 194 student stations to the project. The Request for Proposal (RFP) for design services was sent out on August 18, 2003, prior to the Educational Specification approval date of October 15, 2003.  The Board agreed to include additional classrooms for class size reduction to avoid having portables remain at the school after the construction of the addition.  Construction costs are already included in the GMP. 

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $150,250.00.

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
