Title: P5 Debarment of Jostens, Inc.

Recommendation:

I recommend the cancellation of all contracts with Jostens, Inc. and debarment of this vendor for three years.

Description:

Approve the Debarment of Jostens, Inc.

 

·      Bid 01C-117B, Term Contract for Diplomas, Diploma Covers and Certificates of Completion was awarded to Jostens Inc.

 

·      Purchase Orders were issued in February 2005 for the FY05 graduation ceremonies.  Special Condition I of the Bid required that all diplomas be delivered no later than 30 days prior to graduation.

 

·      Jostens, Inc. failed to deliver diplomas to many High Schools in time for graduation.  In addition, Jostens, Inc. failed to provide good quality control resulting in many spelling errors on the diplomas that were completed.

 

·      A Notice of Default was sent to the vendor on May 24, 2005.  There has been no satisfactory resolution.

 

·      The vendor will be debarred for three years in accordance with School Board Policy 6.14.

Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the District.
