Title: CC16 Consultant Contract to Approve Amendment to Legal Advisor Consultant Contract

Recommendation:

I recommend the Board authorize entering into Amendment No. 1 to Phase Two Contract between The School Board of Palm Beach County, Florida and the Law Firm of Shapiro Sher Guinot & Sandler for Legal Services to extend the contract with Franklin M. Lee, Esquire through November 30, 2005, for an additional $45,000, for legal services in connection with development of the proposed diversity-in-business policy and program and authorize the Superintendent and Chief Operating Officer to approve the final terms of the agreement with advice of the Chief Counsel, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all agreements.

Description:

Franklin Lee, Esq. will provide ongoing legal services in conjunction with the development and implementation of the diversity-in-business policy and program.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the FY2006 of the Operating Budget is $45,000.  The source of funds is Legal Services.
