Title: PM3 Project Modifications for Palm Springs Middle School

Recommendation:

recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications in the amount of $56,341.00 for Palm Springs (formerly Jefferson Davis) Middle School, Modernization Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Palm Springs (formerly Jefferson Davis) Middle School - Modernization Project #0611-8284

 

Item #1

§        Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $7,583.00.

§        Description: Perform subsurface Ground Penetrating Radar and electromagnetic induction detection to locate underground piping, conduits, and utilities.

§        Cause: School District Requested.

§        Justification:  Locate all underground piping, conduits, and utilities so they may be relocated or disconnected prior to construction so there would be no on site dangers and the school would not lose services.

 

Item #2

§        Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $9,350.00.

§        Description:  Locate underground piping, conduits and utilities found by Ground Hound Inc. on survey drawings.

§        Cause: School District Requested.

§        Justification:  To accurately record the location of all underground piping, conduits and utilities.

 

Item #3

§        Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $35,158.00.

§        Description:  Redesign the sanitary sewer system from a gravity system to an onsite lift station.

§        Cause:  Outside Agency.

§        Justification:  To install a working sewer system that will discharge into the Palm Beach County Water Utility System.

 

Item #4

§        Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $4,250.00.

§        Description:  Delete water to all urinals and modify all documents to specify waterless urinals.

§        Cause:  School District Requested.

§        Justification:  So the District may reduce the amount of water used at the facility.

 

Construction costs are included in the GMP.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $56,341.00.

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
