Title: PD-2 PERSONNEL DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Recommendation:
I recommend that the Board approve Jesus May's Suspension Without Pay, effective August 18, 2005, and Termination, effective fifteen (15) days after the August 17, 2005, Board Meeting, subject only to appeal under Section 120.68, Florida Statutes, unless a timely request for an administrative hearing is made within the fifteen (15) days stated herein pursuant to Section 120.569 and 120.57, Florida Statutes wherein Mr. May will remain suspended without payment of salary and benefits until final School Board disposition is entered to the administrative hearing proceedings.

Description: During the 2004/2005 school year, Jesus May was the subject of a Professional Standards investigation based upon allegations that he abandoned three (3) students under his care at the Habilitation Center for the Handicapped  in Boca Raton when he left the job without permission (during his duty hours) with an adult female client of the facility.

Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the school district.
