Title: PM5 Project Modifications for Palm Springs Middle

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve Project Modification in the amount of $906,162.00 for Palm Springs Community (formerly Jefferson Davis) Middle School, Modernization Project, and authorize the Chairman and the Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Palm Springs Community (formerly Jefferson Davis) Middle School  - Modernization Project #0611-8284

 

This project modification contains the following item:

 

  • COPR #1 in the amount of $906,162.00
  • Description:  Widen Kirk Road in front of the existing school and add center left and right turn lanes.  Design must be compliant with Palm Beach County traffic design standards.
  • Cause:     Outside Agency-Palm Beach County Traffic Engineering.
  • Justification: To ensure better traffic flow as requested by Palm Beach County Traffic Engineering.  

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $906,162.00.

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award. The District is negotiating with Palm Beach County a reimbursement up to $500,000.00.
