Title: RE1 - Utility Easement Deed for J.C. Mitchell Elementary

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve granting of a utility easement deed in favor of the City of Boca Raton, over a portion of the J. C. Mitchell Elementary School site, as herein described; and authorize the Superintendent and Chairman to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

 

·        The proposed utility easement dedication is for new water and sewer utility lines that will serve the J. C. Mitchell Elementary School campus modernization.

 

·        The utility easement and the associated water and sewer utilities will serve the entire J. C. Mitchell school site including the new classroom construction, the new state of the art media center, kitchen, and the cafeteria/multipurpose room.

 

·        The easement is approximately 13’ wide and runs along the perimeter of the school campus, for a total of 0.049 acres.

 

·        This utility easement conveyance is being brought to the Board for approval because it does not meet the requirements of the Board policy 7.172, and the City of Boca Raton insists that the School Board provide and construct the utility service lines to help promote adequate and safe utilities for the modernized J. C. Mitchell School site. The School Board’s costs related to the construction of the utility service lines was included in the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposal.
