Title: P1 Approve Amendment to Computer Associates

Recommendation:

I recommend approval of Amendment No. 4 to the existing contract with Computer Associates International and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

P1  Approve Amendment No. 4 to the contract with Computer Associates International

·      This agreement is required to continue a multitude of District processes including report cards, data warehouse, student information, and payroll.

·      The amendment is required to renew the Computer Associates software license and maintenance agreement.  The current contract expires on December 14, 2005.

·      The software maintenance and operating expenditure through December 14, 2007, is $202,000 per year for a total of $404,000.

·      The current Computer Associates software products include:  TLMS (automated tape management system, which supports the robotic silo system to backup mission-critical data), Easytrieve Plus (student and financial information system reporting tool) and Platinum products (database management tools supporting Payroll, Personnel and the Data Warehouse).  

·      A copy of the AMENDMENT NUMBER 4 TO THE ORDER FORM AND ADDENDUM EFFECTIVE February 18, 1998 (the “Licensee”) is attached.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the District Budget is estimated at $404,000.  The source of funds is the Information Technology Department budget.
