Title: CLS2-Wellington Community High School Choir (Impressions) Fieldtrip to Athens, Greece

Recommendation:

I recommend that the School Board approve this request for the Wellington Community High School Choir, IMPRESSIONS, to travel to Athens, Greece. The primary purpose of this trip is an educational one which will provide the students an opportunity to perform a series of concerts in Athens, Greece. The choir members will gain knowledge of another country, its architecture, historical landmarks, language, art museums, folkways and mores and its contribution to music.   

Description:

Forty choir members will be chaperoned by four teachers.  The group will travel by air, departing Palm Beach International Airport on Friday, March 17, 2006 and returning to Palm Beach International Airport on Monday, March 27, 2006.  The cost of the trip is $2,100.00 per person, which includes air, hotel, charter coach, meals, tours and all attractions.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact of $92,400.00 will be covered by Wellington Community High School, Internal Accounts.
