Title: AC-5 Agreement with the Prevention Partnerships for Children, Inc. Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Memorandum of Agreement with the Prevention Partnerships for Children to fund a full-time position (Specialist in Evaluation and Test Development) at no cost to the District.
Description:
- On August 18, 2004, the School Board approved the Memorandum of Agreement with the Governor’s Council for Community Health Partnerships, Inc,. (Governor’s Council) to fund a full-time level 18 specialist position to conduct statistical analysis and evaluations of district programs funded by the Children’s Services Council (e.g. Summer Pre-K Programs, Beacon Centers, Behavior Health Programs, and After School Programs).
- The Governor’s Council terminated the Memorandum of Agreement, effective December 31, 2004, in an effort to shift all fiscal agent agreements to their nonprofit agency, The Prevention Partnerships for Children, Inc.
- On December 8, 2004, the School Board approved a revised Memorandum of Agreement with the non-profit agency, Prevention Partnerships for Children, Inc. (PPC), to replace the soon to be terminated Memorandum of Agreement with the Governor’s Council.
- This December 14, 2005, Memorandum of Agreement with the PPC aligns the original August 18, 2004, agreement to the actual date of employment of the specialist so that it matches exactly the specialist’s start date (January 20, 2005) and extends the agreement through September 30, 2006 in order to reflect the Children’s Services Council current budget allocation for the position.
The Memorandum of Agreement will be in effect through September 30, 2006.
Financial Impact:
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The financial impact to the FY2005 Special Revenue – Other Funds budget is an increase of up to $167,029. The funds will be allocated to the Performance Accountability budget.
