Title: PM2 Project Modifications for Congress Middle

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $136,362.00, for Congress Middle School, Modernization Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Congress Middle School – Modernization Project #1581-8339

This project modification contains the following item:

• CCD #1 in the amount of $136,362.00.
• Description:  Provide additional project funds necessary to subcontract with the second low bidder to furnish and install roofing in accordance with the project contract documents.
• Cause:  Contractor Requested.
• Justification:  The CM informed SDPBC that the low bidder has refused to submit to mandatory fingerprinting and background checks as required by the Jessica Lunsford Act being enforced by SDPBC.  The subcontractor bids for the roofer were received prior to the passage and subsequent DOE interpretation of the Jessica Lunsford Act.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $136,362.00.

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
