Title: PM3 Project Modifications for Coral Reef Elementary

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $158,137.00 for Coral Reef Elementary School, Class Size Reduction Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Coral Reef Elementary School – Class Size Reduction Project #2581-8950

 

This project modification contains the following item:

 

  • CCD #1 in the amount of $158,137.00.
  • Description:  Provide all necessary labor, materials, bonds and insurance necessary to revise existing bus loop and additional parking, and install an additional access lane for the parent drop-off/pick-up.
  • Cause: School District Requested.
  • Justification: The existing bus loop radius was too small.  Buses crossed the curb on both sides of the drive and created a safety hazard.  Additional parking, located in an island at the bus loop is required for the new staffing of the additional classrooms.  The total cost of this work is $419,785.00.  An allowance of $261,648.00 was included in the GMP.  The difference between the Allowance in the GMP and the actual cost is $158,137.00.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $158,137.00.

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
