Title: Recommendation: I recommend the School Board approve an Agreement for Construction Management at Risk Services and Preconstruction Phase Services Fee in the amount of $127,230 to The Weitz Company I, Inc. and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents for Pre-Construction fees for Palm Beach Lakes High Addition and Academy Project No: 1851-8228. Description: Construction Management @ Risk Services required for Preconstruction Phase Services including design review and recommendation to establish a Guaranteed Maximum Price for construction of a 38,658 GSF building to accommodate 112 student stations for new academy programs and 375 student stations for class size reduction. Construction will be in accordance with the Educational Specifications approved by the Board on October 10, 2004. Estimated Budget for Construction: $11,613,967 Construction Type: To be determined during Preconstruction Phase No. of Stories: To be determined during Preconstruction Phase. Gross Square Feet: 38,658 Estimated Total New Student Stations: 487 Estimated Construction Cost/Student Station: $23,847 Preconstruction Phase Services Fee: $106,920 Reimbursable Expenses: $20,310 Total: $127,230 Three (3) firms responded to the RFP and all three (3) were shortlisted. The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows: (1) The Weitz Company I, Inc. (2) Moss & Associates (3) Catalfumo Construction Ltd. Financial Impact: The financial impact is $127,230.
