Title: AC4-Agreement with Palm Healthcare Foundation Inc.

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the continuation of the agreement  with Palm Healthcare Foundation, Inc., effective July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010, and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents related to the agreement which are required for implementation.

Description:

This continuation Agreement between Palm Healthcare Foundation, Inc. and the School Board of Palm Beach County, entered into on July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010, funds a consultant for Health Occupation Programs. The consultant will coordinate educational activities and programs that benefit the teachers, students, and medical profession employers.  It offers assistance to the programs for the education of the students in the health care discipline by enhancing and advancing the development of the Medical Sciences Academies and Programs in the School District of Palm Beach County.

Palm Healthcare will provide the District with a paid consultant.  The only cost to the District will be for travel expenses. 

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the Special Revenue-Other Fund is a decrease of approximately $3,000 from the Carl D. Perkins Grant funds for travel expenses. These funds will be allocated to the Department of Choice Programs and School Choice budget.  All grant related expenditures and contracts are authorized for payment up to the amount of revenue.
