						 Title: G4-State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Office of Prevention and Victim Services Delinque Recommendation: 
I recommend that the School Board accept the State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Office of Prevention and Victim Services Delinquency Prevention Program Grant to establish a delinquency prevention program for the Department of Alternative Education in the amount of $72,182.43 effective July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents and contracts required for implementation of grant activities. 
Measurable outcomes focus on a decrease in habitual truancy, suspensions, and behavior referrals.    
Description: The State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Office of Prevention and Victim Services Delinquency Prevention Program Grant will establish a delinquency prevention program to provide a Comprehensive, Multi-Component Approach DJJ Prevention Program for 20 at-risk youth from zip code areas 33407, 33415, 33430, and 33404 for one year.   
  
Services will include  
*Normative education 
*Information about the consequences of drugs and violence and  
*Social skills training, including social influences training 
* Parent/Guardian Involvement. 
  
Grant management will be provided by the School Administrator and the Department of Alternative Education. 
  
A copy of the grant is on file in the Board Minutes Office for review.  
  
Financial Impact: 
The financial impact to the Special Revenue-Other Funds budget will be an increase of $72,182.43 to the FY08 budget.  All grant-related expenditures and contracts are authorized for payment in the amount of the revenue.
