Title: Health Care District & Health Department-School Nurses

Description: This is the tenth year of a collaborative partnership which provides school health services to our students.  The partnership between the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach County Health Department, the School District of Palm Beach County and other collaborative funding partners provides school nurses.  School nurses give basic and comprehensive school health services to all children in the populations served, including children with special health needs resulting from complex medical conditions.  The school nurse functions as a member and often the coordinator of the school health services team.  The team includes family physicians, nurse practitioners, school counselors, school psychologists, school social workers and other school staff members.  The school nurse is also responsible for medication administration, care of students with illness and injuries, and health education and comprehensive screening programs.
