Title: Riviera Beach Maritime Academy

Description: Riviera Beach Maritime Academy students on board a tall sailing ship, the S/V Denis Sullivan, enroute to Key West on a research trip were recently involved in a rescue at sea.  The crew of the S/V Denis Sullivan, along with the assistance of the students and teachers on board, rescued three men from a sinking vessel off shore of Key West.  Two of the men on the sinking vessel were seriously injured.  In 25 knot winds and 6 foot seas, the students got a first hand lesson in sea rescue.  The Riviera Beach Maritime Academy is a charter school supported by the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County.
