Title: Bioscience Career and Education Month

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board of Palm Beach County adopt the proclamation recognizing April 2007, as Bioscience Career and Education Month.

Description: In conjunction with Bioscience Career and Education Month, the School District is participating in the second annual statewide Bioscience Career and Education Exposition, sponsored by BioFlorida. The event is designed to increase student awareness of bioscience as a career path, advance fundamental student interest and enrollment in science and mathematics, provide important resources for science teachers, promote economic development within the state, and position Palm Beach County for rapid growth in this important industry. Scientists are speaking in high schools throughout the county the month of April.  Our School District has the greatest percent of high schools participating in this event in the State of Florida.
