1. Turning Points Academy is the committee’s first choice for a name.
The name ‘Turning Points Academy” comes from the administrative philosophy that students will benefit from the academics, structure, discipline and school culture offered to make their stay at the academy a “turning point” in their lives.
Students will return to home schools prepared academically and behaviorally to succeed.
2. Palm Beach Pathways Academy is the committee’s second choice for a name.
The name “Palm Beach Pathways Academy” is derived from the concept that students (people) make choices in life which are like pathways.
Choices, like pathways, can lead to positive or negative outcomes. PB Pathways Academy will teach children how making right choices will enable them to embark on a desired pathway with positive and successful results.
3. Second Chance Academy is the committee’s third choice for a name.
The name “Second Chance Academy” contends that students (people) sometimes make poor choices in life that require them to admit wrong doing and understand how negative actions in life have consequences.
Students would be prepared academically and behaviorally to return to their home schools and having another opportunity to remediate behavior.
The selection committee was a collaboration of stakeholders who were administrators, parents, students and teachers.
