Title: RE2- Boca Raton HS Lease of First Baptist Church for Adult ESOL

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the renewal of the Lease Agreement for Classroom space with the First Baptist Church of Boca Raton, Inc; and authorize the Chairman and the Superintendent to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

•         Boca Raton Community High School has a continuing need for classroom space for its

      Adult Education ESOL program.

•         The school and the program administrators feel that it is better to keep this adult daytime program off campus during school hours, as opposed to evening programs that can utilize school classrooms.

•         The First Baptist Church of Boca Raton, Florida, Inc. has classroom space available for use by Adult Education for its ESOL program. This space has been leased annually for the past seven (7) years by Boca Raton Community High School for its ESOL Program.

•         The term for this renewal Lease Agreement is July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008 (12months).

•         The annual rent is $27,017.52 payable at $2,251.46 per month.

•         The premises being leased consist of seven (7) classrooms and one (1) additional room to be used as an office located in the east wing of the education building of the First Baptist Church of Boca Raton, 2350 NW Yamato Road, Boca Raton, Florida.

•         The premises have been inspected and approved by the School District's Regulatory  Compliance and Environmental Control Offices

Financial Impact:
The amount of $27,017.52 will be provided by Workforce Development funds for Adult Education.
