Title: RE-4 Amend Lease with PBC for M&PO Grounds

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the Second Amendment to the Lease Agreement between Palm Beach County and the School Board of Palm Beach County for the temporary use of 4.5+ acres of the Stockade Expansion Parcel by Maintenance and Plant Operations; and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to sign all other necessary documents.

Description:

• On December 11, 2002, the School Board approved a Three (3) Year Lease Agreement which expired on February 9, 2006. (See Exhibit I)

• A six (6) month extension was approved that will expire on June 18, 2007.

• An additional six (6) month extension is needed to provide the School District time to relocate the Grounds Maintenance and Plant Operations Program to a permanent site.

• The rent payable to Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners for the six month extension is $21,705.90.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the School District will be $21,705.90.  The source of funds is from the Modular/Portable Replacement Budget.
