Title: RE5- Lease Agreement for Montessori Charter School at H.L. Watkins

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the First Amendment of the Lease Agreement for temporary use of the “Old” Media Center at Howell L. Watkins Middle School; and authorize the Chairman and the Superintendent to sign all necessary documents.

 

Description:

  • On January 26, 2005 the School Board approved a Lease Agreement with Montessori Academies of Palm Beach County Charter School to utilize the “Old” Media Center at Howell L. Watkins Middle School. (See Exhibit I)

 

  • The current lease will expire May 31, 2007. The Charter School is requesting the lease be extended for the 2007-2008 School year. 

 

  • The First Amendment requires the Charter School to comply with the School District’s Building Department inspection requirements no later than August 1, 2007.  (See Exhibit)

 

  • The annual rent for the time of the lease shall be $1.00 per year.
