Title: Recommendation: Description: § The Picower Foundation Grant for Single School Culture for Academics will provide the following: o Training, coaching, and modeling on various components of Single School Culture for Academics and fund the expansion to additional schools that may meet the criteria for AAA status. o Resources for the existing positions described below: § One Program Planner and one Specialist to develop training components; monitor implementation; and observe, provide feedback to and evaluate Learning Team Facilitators; § Two Resource Teachers to mentor and coach new Learning Team Facilitators and model the components of the project; and § One Parent Advocacy Specialist to provide Efficacy presentations to parents and community organizations. § Stipends for training to enable more schools to implement the Single School Culture for Academics processes. § The goals of the project are as follows: o A 3% increase in student academic proficiency in reading, math and science at project schools; o Project schools will participate in weekly (elementary) or biweekly (secondary) Learning Team Meetings; o Parent Advocacy Specialist will conduct 15-20 workshops on Efficacy to parents and/or community agencies; and o A community-wide Efficacy Campaign for Proficiency will be implemented in Palm Beach County with Community Leaders receiving Efficacy training and providing Efficacy training and activities among their constituency.
