Title: CS4 Amendment to June 2006 Charter Agreement for Bright Futures International Charter School

Recommendation:

I recommend that the School Board approve the Amendment to the Charter Agreement signed June 28, 2006 for an additional four (4) year contract.

Description:

Bright Futures International Charter School serves students in grades K-5.  The charter school opened July 1, 2001.  The five (5) year contract ended June 30, 2006.  A one (1) year provisional contract ends June 2007.

Bright Futures has successfully corrected the area of deficiency i.e. audit findings.  (See attached Exhibit A)

Bright Futures has met adequate yearly progress for the past two (2) years with a school grade of "A" for 2004-2005 and 2005-2006.

A copy of the Bright Futures Contract is on file in the Board Office for your review.

Financial Impact:

There is no financial impact to the District.
