Title: PM7 Jerry Thomas Elementary Project Modifications

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications for the addition of sixty-eight (68) days for Substantial Completion and thirty (30) days for Final Completion and ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $156,249.68, for Jerry Thomas Elementary Classroom Addition Project #1651-8375, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

This project modification contains the following item:

 

COPR #1

 

  • Item #1 for the addition of five (5) non-compensable consecutive calendar days.
  • Description: Extend Substantial Completion (SC) date five (5) days of non-compensable time
  • Cause: Design Error
  • Justification: Underground plumbing inspections were put on hold until the issuance of ASI #2.
    • Modify the existing Notice to Proceed by adding five (5) non-compensable calendar days. This will move Substantial Completion from December 1, 2006 to December 6, 2006 and final completion from January 2, 2007 to January 7, 2007.

  • Item #2 for the addition of eight (8) non-compensable consecutive calendar days.
  • Description: Extend Substantial Completion (SC) date eight (8) days of non-compensable time
  • Cause: Unforeseen
  • Justification: Due to Hurricane Wilma all work was stopped for site preparation.
    • Modify the existing Notice to Proceed by adding eight (8) non-compensable calendar days.  This will move Substantial Completion from December 6, 2006 to December 14, 2006 and final completion from January 7, 2007 to January 15, 2007.

  • Item #3 for the addition of twenty (20) compensable consecutive calendar days and the amount of $58,962.14.
  • Description: Extend Substantial Completion (SC) twenty (20) days
  • Cause: Unforeseen.
  • Justification:  Delayed due to underground inspection hold on completed work pending Building Department review and permitting.
    • Modify the existing Notice to Proceed by adding twenty (20) compensable calendar days.  This will move Substantial Completion from December 14, 2006 to January 4, 2007 and final completion from January 15, 2007 to February 4, 2007.

  • Item #4 for the addition of eighteen (18) compensable consecutive calendar days and the amount of $53,065.93.
  • Description: Extend Substantial Completion eighteen (18) days.
  • Cause: Design Omission.
  • Justification:  Delayed due to structural changes to Building #10.
    • Modify the existing Notice to Proceed by adding eighteen (18) compensable calendar days.  This will move Substantial Completion from January 4, 2007 to January 22, 2007 and final completion from February 10, 2007 to February 22, 2007.

  • Item #5 for the addition of fifteen (15) compensable consecutive calendar days and the amount of $44,221.61.
  • Description: Extend Substantial Completion fifteen (15) days.
  • Cause: Design Omission.
  • Justification:  Delayed due to structural changes to Building #9
    • Modify the existing Notice to Proceed by adding fifteen (15) compensable calendar days.  This will move Substantial Completion from January 22, 2007 to February 6, 2007 and final completion from February 22, 2007 to March 9, 2007.

  • Item #6 for the addition of two (2) non-compensable consecutive calendar days.
  • Description: Extend Substantial Completion two (2) days of non-compensable time
  • Cause: Unforeseen.
  • Justification:  Delayed due to unforeseen structural conditions in Building #9
    • Modify the existing Notice to Proceed by adding two (2) non-compensable calendar days. This will move Substantial Completion from February 6, 2007 to February 8, 2007 and final completion from March 9, 2007 to March 11, 2007.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $156,249.68

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
