Title: PM4 Loxahatchee Tower Project Modifications and Final Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications in the amount of $6,645.00, approve Reduction of Retainage from 10% to 0%, and approve Final Payment and Final Acceptance for Loxahatchee Tower Control Building Replacement Design/Build Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.
Description: This project modification contains the following items:
Item #1
- CCD #1 in the amount of $22,645.00.
- Description: Change generator to accommodate both natural gas and propane, and upgrade the warranty to 5 years, increase fencing to perimeter fencing, increase LP tank pad to accommodate larger tank, adjust structure door to be double wide.
- Cause: School District Requested.
- Justification: This is a critical part of our communication infrastructure, so staff desired the upgrades to the fuel source option, warranty, and propane tank capacity. The structure will be easier to maintain with double door access.
Item #2
- Assess Liquidated Damages in the amount of ($16,000.00).
- Description: The date for Substantial Completion was missed by thirty-two (32) days.
Item #3
Description: The Project Architect has certified that the Loxahatchee Tower Control Building Replacement Project, under contract with Southeastern Communications, achieved Final Completion.
The General Contractor has requested, and Staff has recommended, Final Payment and Final Acceptance.
- Punchlist Items were completed.
- Certificate of Completion was obtained.
- Closeout Documents were received.
- No errors or omissions.
- Final M/WBE Participation achieved: 25.68%
Financial Impact:
The Financial Impact to the Project’s Budget is $6,645.00.
