Title: Parent Leadership Council

The most successful indicator of student achievement is the degree in which parents are involved in their children's education. Parental involvement is often a new cultural concept for parents coming from other countries and so parental involvement opportunities must be made available to ESOL parents. 

There is a Parent Leadership Council at each school and a District Parent Leadership Council composed of parents of LEP students. Parents of LEP students are provided with leadership training, orientation to the district's LEP program, monitoring procedures and involvement opportunities available to parents of LEP students. Three parents representing the Spanish, Creole and Portuguese students of Palm Beach County, are recognized for their participation and leadership role in the District Parent Leadership Council.
