In accordance with School Board Policy 7.02, three names are being submitted for the naming of middle school 02-JJ. A committee of parents, students and community members met to review names for the school. Committee members represented the geographical area of the community.
Emerald Cove Middle School The color of emerald represents the brilliant shade of green and is seen throughout our lovely school community. The area surrounding our beautiful school is green with beautiful lawns, landscaping, palm trees, and other rich plant growth. Our school will reflect the color green by providing a focus on the flourishing personal and academic growth of all our students.
Legacy Middle School The word Legacy represents our desire for all students to leave their legacy of successful personal and academic growth and their positive effect upon their peers, faculty and staff during their adolescent years. This word will also symbolize the goals of our faculty and staff to leave a powerful legacy for our students of caring, encouragement, and high academic and behavioral expectations.
Cypress Edge Middle School - Our local school community is found on the edge of bountiful cypress woods and similar green foliage. We are located in the midst of economic development and growth, but on the edge of natural growth.
