Title: AC15 - Second Amendment to the Cooperative Agreement with C.L.A.S.S. of Palm Beach County, Inc.

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Second Amendment to the Cooperative Agreement with the C.L.A.S.S. of Palm Beach County, Inc., in the amount of $39,700 for implementation of the summer program effective June 11, 2007 through July 27, 2007.

Description:

This amends the Cooperative Agreement with C.L.A.S.S. of Palm Beach County, Inc. for tutorial services offered at the Delray Full Service Center.  This amendment is for an increase in District funding in the amount of $ 39,700.

The focus of the C.L.A.S.S. Program is to improve academic skills and raise FCAT scores through tutoring activities. 

The 10 teachers who are employed by C.L.A.S.S. provide services Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
 
The School District will provide $39,700 to C.L.A.S.S. to support implementation of the program.  Funding will be used for the salaries of the program teachers.

Success of the C.L.A.S.S. program will be evaluated by reviewing and analyzing participating students' FCAT scores and pre/post test.

Copies of the Agreement and First and Second Amendments are attached.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the General Fund Budget is $39,700.  The source of funds is the Quality Assurance budget.
